US President said on his Truth Social profile that all hostages will be released “soon”
The President of the United States, Donald Trump (Republican Party), announced on his profile on Truth Social this Wednesday (8.Oct.2025) that Israel and Hamas agreed to the 1st phase of the peace agreement to end the war in the Gaza Strip. The formal signing of the document must be carried out on Thursday (Oct 9, 2025).
“This means that ALL hostages will soon be released and Israel will withdraw its troops to an agreed line, as the first steps towards a strong and lasting peace”Trump wrote.
The Republican did not give details about when the hostages will be released or what exactly this is. “agreed line”. According to the international press, the release of the hostages should take place on Saturday (Oct 11) and Sunday (Oct 12).

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared on his X profile that this is “a great day for Israel”.
“I will call on the government tomorrow to approve the agreement and bring all of our precious hostages home. I thank the heroic soldiers of the Israel Defense Forces and all the security forces whose courage and sacrifice allowed us to reach this day. I thank President Trump and his team from the bottom of my heart for their commitment to this sacred mission of freeing our hostages.”said Netanyahu.
Hamas praised in a statement the work of Qatar, Egypt and Türkiye in mediating the agreement and thanked Trump for his efforts to end the war.
