A man who lives with a king
The movie ‘The Man Who Lives with the King’, which is close to exceeding 13 million viewers in Korea, is continuing to be a box office sensation in 80 cities in North America, including Chicago.
According to the Korea Film Council‘s integrated computer network, director Jang Hang-jun‘s blockbuster film ‘The Man Who Lived with the King’ surpassed 10 million viewers in just 31 days of its release, and is expected to easily surpass 13 million viewers this weekend.
There are predictions in the industry that if this trend continues, it will be worth it to surpass the 15 million mark and even challenge the record of being the highest grossing Korean film of all time, set by ‘Roaring Currents’ (17.61 million viewers) in 2014.
The response from the North American market is even more enthusiastic. In the second week of release, it has already surpassed the North American performance of ‘Crime City 4’, and in the third week, it has surpassed the records of ‘Spring in Seoul’ and ‘Extreme Job’. This week, in its fourth week of release, it is certain that the records of ‘Along with the Gods’ and ‘Train to Busan’ will be broken one after another.
Currently, ‘The Man Who Lived with the King’ is being screened to rave reviews in more than 80 cities across the United States and Canada, and the distributor, JBG Pictures USA, has decided to additionally release it at AMC Niles 12 and 3 other theaters in the Chicago area (Cinemark Seven Bridges, Cinemark Deer Park 16, AMC Roosevelt Collection 16).
