According to an investigation into the complaints of the National Road Traffic Safety Authority (NHTSA), Tesla owners reported that they had to break their car windows without an accident after connecting their children into the car and unable to enter the car again. It has not been revealed whether Tesla is working on all cars or new ones, but it is unlikely that the company will be able to combine the two ways on existing models.
The Tesla Model S and Model X handles extend and retract, while the Model 3 and Y handles are mechanically bent when they are pressed. But if this fails, the doors must be manually opened with the door opener inside the vehicle to get out. This can occur if a power failure occurs after a collision.
And the location of manual release buttons can be difficult to find in an emergency, especially for a young child, or for a passenger who is unknown to the vehicle. There were many cases where passengers died or burned in a fire after an accident because rescuers on the scene could not open the doors.
