The British Prime Minister Keir Starmer launched a hard attack on Nigel Farageaccusing the leader of Reform UK of having exceeded “a moral line” with its anti-immigration ideas.
In his speech at the Labor annual conference in Liverpool, Starmer opposed his vision of “patriotic renewal” to the policy he defined and destructive his opponent.
The “struggle for the soul of the country”

With an index of drop in decline, an economy in difficulty and growing doubts about his leadership, Starmer tried to relaunch his political image. In his speech he spoke of a “struggle for the soul of the country” between the center -left Labor government and the right movement led by Farage.
He invited the voters to reject the “merchants of illusions” who promise easy and miraculous solutions, underlining that, albeit with obvious difficulties, “Great Britain is not destroyed”.
Farage and the echo of the sorceress
Nigel Farage, a central figure of the British populist right, focused on his campaign on Anti-Establishment and Anti-Immigration messagesrecalling the sorceress movement of Donald Trump out of style and rhetoric.
The leader of Reform UK has promised to deport all the migrants who arrived illegally On small boats through the sleeve and even to review the rights of residence of some legal immigrants. A Labor I struggle
Since the Labor triumphed in the elections of July 2024, the consent for the party has collapsed. Inflation remains high, the modest economic prospects and the promise of growth clashes with public services in crisis and a persistent increase in the cost of living.
The chancellor of the checkerboard Rachel Reeves has attributed most of the difficulties to the “Global opposites”: the war in Ukraine, the conflict in the Middle East and the commercial rates imposed by the US president Donald Trump. Starmer warned that difficult economic choices will continue to arrive and that a long -term commitment will serve to reconstruct the country.
The message of “Renew Britin”
The premier has traced an ambitious agenda for the future: mobilizing public and private investments to modernize infrastructures, relaunch public services, improve education, build new houses and strengthen the British industry.
Starmer insisted on the fact that national pride must not be a monopoly of the right, claiming that waving the British flag means “celebrating the differences and opposing racism”.
He recognized that asking for sure boundaries and immigration control is a legitimate request, but has warned that overcoming the limits of legality and civil coexistence represents “hooliganism” and non -political.
Farage’s reply
Farage said he was “shocked” by the speech and called Starmer “unsuitable for prime minister”. He also accused the Labor leader of implicitly labeled reform UK supporters as racists, stamping his intervention as “an absolute shame”.
