Social Security February Payments: Dates & Schedule 2024

If you are a beneficiary of Social Security in the United States, you are surely paying close attention to the February 2026 payment schedule, especially if you depend on that money to cover basic expenses such as rent, food or medicine. If you still do not know when you will receive the amount that corresponds to you in the second month of the year, do not worry, since in this note we will detail it for you and explain how to identify your collection date according to the type of benefit you receive and your day of birth. This way, you will be able to better organize your budget, avoid surprises and plan the use of your resources in advance.

WHAT DATE IN FEBRUARY WILL I COLLECT MY SOCIAL SECURITY?

Social Security payments are usually deposited on Wednesdays to your beneficiaries, but it will depend on your date of birth. The schedule according to the SSA is as follows:

• Wednesday, February 11, 2026: payment for those born between the 1st and 10th of any month.
• Wednesday, February 18, 2026: payment for those born between the 11th and 20th of any month.
• Wednesday, February 25, 2026: payment for those born on or after the 21st of any month.

But there is more, since payments are required to another group of beneficiaries this month. They are:

• Tuesday, February 3, 2026: Social Security payment for those who began receiving benefits before May 1997.

Meanwhile, beneficiaries who receive Supplemental Security Income (SSI) checks receive their payments on the first business day of each month. But in February it falls on a weekend.

• Because February 1, 2026 falls on a Sunday, the delivery of the money is brought forward to Friday, January 30.

This way, people who receive their SSA benefits are not harmed.

SOCIAL SECURITY BENEFICIARIES RECEIVE MORE DUE TO INCREASE IN COLA BY 2.8%

For 2026, the Social Security cost of living adjustment (COLA) is 2.8%, which translates into an average increase of US$56 per month for retirees; Therefore, each beneficiary will receive US$2,071.

Meanwhile, the average monthly payment for a survivor, with this increase, would be approximately US$52, while for a worker who receives Disability Insurance it would increase by US$44.

It is worth pointing out that this increase for 2026 is greater than the 2.5% COLA that beneficiaries received in 2025, but much less than that of previous years.
