News Center – DEM Party Ağrı Deputy Sırrı Sakık, with his proposal to the Turkish Grand National Assembly, said that the new information about Mahmut Yıldırım, codenamed “Green”, should be clarified.
Journalist Saygı Öztürk stated in his column that a person who called him said, “I am Yeşil.”
According to Öztürk’s article, the person in question claimed that he was currently on the Syrian border and was staying with a trusted idealist friend. He also claimed that although he was captured in Konya when he returned to Türkiye, he was released upon an instruction from “higher ups”.
Following the allegations, DEM Party Ağrı Deputy Sırrı Sakık brought the issue to the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye.
Sakık, in his parliamentary question requesting the Minister of Internal Affairs Ali Yerlikaya to answer, stated that this new information regarding Mahmut Yıldırım, codenamed Yeşil, should be clarified.
Sakık emphasized that the allegations in Öztürk’s article are grave and said, “In today’s article by the spokesperson Saygı Öztürk, it was claimed that the hitman codenamed Yeşil was alive and protected by some intra-state structures. Crimes committed in the name of the state caused even a hitman to become untouchable.”
Sakık asked Minister Yerlikaya the following questions on the subject:
- 1-Why hasn’t a person whose name was mentioned in almost all the unsolved murders committed in the 1990s been caught despite all the years that have passed?
- 2-Is it true that the person who said he was Mahmut Yıldırım stated that the state did not take him into custody even though they knew where he was staying?
- 3-Who or who is protecting this hitman, who is obviously protected when looking at the events and facts that he himself stated, and for what purpose?
- 4-Does your Ministry have information about what information the hitman codenamed Green knew and in which network he committed crimes?
- 5- What is the sign of the person named code green appearing again?
A very grave claim was included in today’s column by Sözcü writer Saygı Öztürk.
