SEA Games Medalist: From Athlete to KW Princess

Putri Kusuma Wardani received a promotion after winning two medals at the 2025 SEA Games in Thailand. Now, he is a Brigadier.

“Thank God, after winning silver and bronze at the SEA Games, on January 14, when I was in India, there was an event from the National Police Chief himself to raise extraordinary ranks for my colleagues and for me too at the National Police agency,” said Putri at Istora GBK, on Wednesday (21/1/2026).

“Now his rank is Brigadier (from previously Bhayangkara Dua),” he continued.

Putri is known to have participated in presenting silver and bronze medals to Indonesia at the biggest multi-event in Southeast Asia which will take place from 9-20 December 2025. Silver was won in the women’s team event, while bronze was won in the women’s single event.

The 23 year old player said that the appreciation for this appointment gave him more motivation in every championship he went through.

“Yes, of course, because I personally participate in every match, not only for Indonesia, but it is also important to want to make the National Police agency proud in every championship,” he said.

The closest target currently is the Indonesia Masters 2026, which is taking place at Istora GBK, since Tuesday (20/1/2026). He has reached the last 16 after winning 21-15, 21-15 over Sung Shuo Yun (Taiwan).

“I want to win here (at the Indonesia Masters). I want to win the 500 series, my first champion in Indonesia,” said the 2024 Korea Masters champion.
