In the case of unmarried civil partnerships, the sum goes to the children entitled to support. Unmarried couples without children do not receive any compensation, as ministry spokesman Dirk Reelfs announced at the request of MDR SACHSEN. For families with large children, 30,000 euros per person should be paid.

Finance Minister Christian Piwarz (CDU) emphasized: “Of course, money cannot compensate for the damage suffered or even the loss of a person. Nevertheless, police officers and firefighters should worry less about their financial security,” the minister continued.
