The Saxon Switzerland-Eastern Ore Mountains district council has approved the budget for the coming year. Cities and municipalities will therefore have to pay more money to the district in the future in order to compensate for increased costs. However, the increase in the district levy is lower than requested by the district administration. According to the district office, a total of more than 38 million euros are missing from the budget. Loans are provided for mandatory tasks and investments.
In an interview with MDR SACHSEN, District Administrator Michael Geisler (CDU) referred to “exorbitant” increases in costs in many areas.
