Richmond Armed Robbery: Suspect Found via Snow Footprints

by Archynetys News Desk

RICHMOND — Shoe prints in Saturday’s snow led police to a man they say robbed the Village Mart on West Main Street not once, but twice.

Richmond police said in a news release Sunday that the trail led them to the 100 block of Richmond Avenue, where Jaime Ledbetter was arrested on two preliminary counts of armed robbery.

Once police searched Ledbetter’s residence, they say, they “found evidence linking him to a second armed robbery at the same store on the 18th.”

Police did not say what sort of weapon the man used or other details in the alleged crimes.

“Fresh snow turned out to be one of our best witnesses,” police said in the release.
