Police arrested four people after a high-speed chase from Hoegaarden to Leuven ended in a crash on Gaston Geenslaan in Heverlee on Wednesday.

The pursuit began when police in Getevallei identified a stolen vehicle with French registration. Officers attempted to stop the car, but the four occupants fled, driving toward Leuven. The vehicle eventually came to a stop on Gaston Geenslaan near the Imec research center, where officers moved in to make arrests. No injuries were reported during the incident.
Additional arrest in Tienen and ongoing investigation
Separately, police in Tienen detained a fifth individual found in possession of burglary tools. Investigators are now determining whether this person is connected to the group involved in the chase. Authorities have confirmed that three vehicles were seized during the operation, including the original stolen car and two others used by suspects attempting to flee.
