Orbán Apology to Gajdos: Minimum Demand?

by Archynetys News Desk

“I think something will come of this (prime ministerial) debate, Viktor Orbán will not be able to get out of it”

– this is what Péter Magyar told András Sváby in ATV’s Sunday evening program Heti Napló. On the channel, the viewers could vote on whether they wanted Orbán to debate live with Péter Viktor Magyar, and the Tisza Party president called it a paper form that 95 percent of them answered yes. According to him, this is what the Tisza and Fidesz voters would expect from a prime minister candidate, but Orbán has not debated live for twenty years.

The program discussed the Nyíregyháza candidate of the Tisza Party announced on Saturday, László Gajdos, who has been running the Nyíregyházi Zoo, famous in Europe, for nearly thirty years. However, soon after the announcement, the local Fidesz called on him to leave the zoo. According to the ruling party, it is outrageous that the leader of a city-owned company accepts the candidacy in such a way that the animal park has “received an enormous amount of state and government resources in the last decade and a half”. Magyar once again praised the merits of László Gajdos at length, who was awarded for his work by several presidents, from Árpád Göncz to Tamás Sulyok. According to Magyar, this is why Gajdos himself did not expect to be blackmailed and threatened after his election, with the knowledge and permission of Viktor Orbán, according to Magyar.

Magyar said that Gajdos has received thousands of messages of support since yesterday, and in less than five years, almost a hundred thousand people signed the online petition that was launched on Tisza’s website in support of the specialist. According to the politician, the purpose of the petition is to draw attention, so that the authorities can feel how far they can go.

“The minimum would be for Viktor Orbán and Fidesz mayor Ferenc Kovács to apologize to László Gajdos.”

Regarding the alleged Tisza tax program published by Index, Péter Magyar once again said that not a single sentence of it can be linked to them, and that “Viktor Orbán should be called here” if they wrote it, since Index is owned by Lőrinc Mészáros, and Mészáros is owned by Orbán.

Magyar came straight from Székesfehérvár to the ATV studio, where the Tisza Party held a rally on Sunday. In addition to Péter Magyar, actors Zsolt Hegedűs, Ágnes Forsthoffer and Ervin Nagy gave short speeches at the event, which took place in the Advent atmosphere.
