by Archynetys Economy Desk

The Spanish company Repsol already has significant stakes in the country, which has some of the largest oil reserves in the world.

The Spanish energy company Repsol will present this Tuesday, March 10, 2026, the update of its strategies until 2028, by adapting the projections of its figures to the new market reality.

In addition, it will set its sights on the United States (USA) and Venezuela, with the aim of increasing its oil and gas exploration and production business in those countries.

The CEO of the Spanish company, Josu Jon Imaz, stressed on several occasions that the purpose of the corporation is the remuneration of its shareholders, investments to transform the business and the balance sheet.

Likewise, he noted that he will bet on the exploration and production business, also called “Upstream”, that may appear in Venezuela, after the relaxation of sanctions by the US on the Caribbean country.

Imaz recently highlighted that Repsol could increase gross oil production in Venezuela by more than 50% in one year, after receiving authorization from the US Government to operate in the South American nation, according to Europa Press.
