René du cinéma Awards: Best Film & Full Winners List (2024)

The other actresses nominated were Mara Taquin (“Au bord du monde”), Bérangère McNeese (“Tomorrow if everything goes well”) and Lubna Azabal (“Rabia”).

Lubna Azabal, winner in 2024 and 2025, is the most successful actress. She has already won five trophies, including four for best actress.

It will be noted that the René for Best Film was attributed to “We believe you” by Charlotte Devillers and Arnaud Dufeys.

On Saturday, the trophy was presented by actress Ruth Becquart and actor Koen De Bouw.

The other films nominated were “BXL” by Ish and Monir Ait Hamou, “Radioman” by Frank Van Passel and “Soft leaves” by Miwako Van Weyenberg.

Anne Coesens and Yoann Blanc, best actress and actor in a series for “Pandore”

Anne Coesens and Yoann Blanc received the trophies for best actress and best actor in a series for “Pandore” (season 2), Saturday evening in Flagey during the René du cinéma evening.

This is the first time in 15 editions that the series are included in the French-speaking Belgian cinema awards ceremony.

Earlier in the evening, “Baraki” (season 2) received the first René for Best Series. If the best series actors and actresses were elected – as for the other categories – by the members of the André Delvaux Academy, it was the public who was able to vote to elect the best series.

Maria Cavalier-Bazan wins the first trophy of the evening

Maria Cavalier-Bazan won the first René du cinéma trophy. She received the trophy for Most Promising Actress for “Love to Lose,” from Lenny and Harpo Guit.

This comedy also earned Maxi Delmelle the René for Most Promising Actor, the second trophy of the evening.

A new name

The trophies rewarding French-speaking Belgian cinema have changed names. They were called Magritte du cinéma since their creation in 2011, but the René Magritte Foundation ended its collaboration with the Académie André Delvaux, organizer of the event, last summer after a 2025 edition that it considered too politicized. The Magrittes have therefore given way to the René of cinema.

The new trophy, a wooden sculpture of which each model is unique, was imagined by the Belgian visual artist Vincent Solheid.
