Children were born at the 23rd week of pregnancy
leoni,Kaleley,Lennon, and Cohen, born at just 23 weeks of pregnancy, have been recognized by the Guinness Book of Records for their remarkable story. The four spent their first six months in the hospital.
The siblings, born to Rebecki and Lawyes Brianes in the United States, are the most premature set of quadruplets to be recognized by the Guinness book of Records.Born 115 days early, the two girls and two boys received intensive care for six months. They recently celebrated their first birthday.
The birth occurred in May 2024 at a hospital in Birmingham, Alabama. Rebece underwent an emergency cesarean section due to a fever that posed a risk of intrauterine infection.
the babies’ weights at birth were critically low:
- Lainy – 577 g
- Kali – 597 g
- Lennon – 647 g
- Cohen – 611 g
Because their lungs were underdeveloped, each baby was immediately placed on a ventilator. They underwent complex treatments, including surgeries and experimental drugs, during their initial weeks.
Quads are an exceptionally rare occurrence, happening in approximately 1 in 700,000 births. The multiple pregnancy is believed to have a genetic component, as twins were present in both parents’ families.
Rebecki, the mother, admitted to disbelief in a positive outcome for a long time, especially after a previous miscarriage. The news of quadruplets from the first ultrasound was both frightening and remarkable.
After months of care, all four children were discharged in December 2024, finaly able to experiance sunlight and fresh air and meet their three older siblings.
“Mom of rebeck kids admits that for a long time she could not believe in a happy outcome.”
Alabama had previously marked another premature birth milestone.
