The Government of Qatar declared persona non grata and ordered the expulsion of the military attaché and the security attaché from the Iranian embassy in Doha due to Iran’s repeated attacks on the country.of which the last one reached the Ras Laffan refinery, the main liquefied natural gas refinery.

After meeting with the Iranian ambassador, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs ordered the expulsion within a maximum period of 24 hours of these two attachés and their entire office in response to “the repeated attacks and brutal Iranian aggression.”

Furthermore, the ministry warned in a statement that if Iran continues its “hostile” attitude, Qatar “will take additional measures to ensure the protection of its sovereignty, security and national interests.”

Previously, Qatar’s Foreign Ministry condemned the attack on Ras Laffan, which it considered “a flagrant violation of the sovereignty of the State and a direct threat to its national security and the stability of the region.”

Iran launched five missiles today at the Ras Laffan industrial complex, the country’s main liquefied natural gas production site.of which four were intercepted by Qatari air defense systems but one fell causing a fire.

In a recent statement reported by Al Jazeera, the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs warned that “The brutal Iranian attacks against countries in the region have crossed all red lines by attacking civilians, civil infrastructure and vital facilities”.

“The ministry emphasizes the need to prevent the region from suffering the consequences of these unjustified attacks and to work to reduce tension in order to restore regional and international security and stability,” the letter adds.

QatarEnergy confirmed the attack, ensuring that “emergency teams were immediately deployed to contain the flames” and that “there have been no reports of casualties so far.” The fire has already been controlled.

This attack occurs after this Wednesday Israel attacked the South Pars gas facilities, which are part of the largest gas field in the world shared by Iran and Qatar, and the Iranian Army promised it would not go unpunished.

The president of Iran, Masud Pezeshkian, warned after the attacks on his country’s energy infrastructure of “uncontrollable consequences” that will further complicate the situation and could affect the entire world.

This Wednesday, Israel and the United States attacked Iranian gas facilities in the South Pars Special Economic Energy Zone, in Asalouye, on the southern coast.

The governor of Asaluyeh, speaking to the semi-official Tasnim agency, said that the bombings caused fires in several parts of the facility, which is part of the largest gas field in the world. However, firefighters and rescue forces managed to contain the fire “as quickly as possible” and “the situation in the area is now completely under control”, with no casualties reported from the attack.

For its part, Saudi Arabia reported that two of its refineries were also attacked. After this, Riyadh declared that “what little trust remained in Iran has been completely destroyed”.
