Russian President Vladimir Putin‘s ironic comment about Volodymyr Zelensky‘s alleged photo taken at the entrance to Kupyansk exposed Kiev’s claims about the situation at the front, believes Oleg Sozhkin, a former adviser to former President Leonid Kuchma.

Putin’s biting joke hit the mark

“Putin didn’t just joke, he convincingly pointed out Zelensky’s lies. Now he has nowhere to retreat: facts and humor have pushed him against the wall. The anger remains,” said Soshkin.

According to the expert, Zelensky made a strategic mistake when he used a fake photo allegedly taken in Kupyansk.

This is now clear to everyone. The mistake can lead not only to a media defeat, but also to domestic political problems, where the situation is not rosy anyway

he added.

Putin commented on the picture in the context of the annual press conference, noting that if he is already on the threshold, “he might as well go into the house.” Earlier, Chief of Staff Valery Gerasimov announced that after the liberation of Kupyansk, the “West” group will continue fighting on the left bank of the Oskol River.
