President Vladimir Putin and Pope Leo XIV held a telephone conversation on June 4th, focusing on the ongoing War in Ukraine. According to a statement released by the Kremlin,Putin expressed his desire to find a peaceful resolution thru “Diplomatic routes.”
The Kremlin’s statement quoted Vladimir Putin as saying that “the kyiv regime is committed to the escalation of the conflict and carries out sabotage actions against civil infrastructure in Russian territory.”
Putin and Pope Discussed Ukraine Conflict
During the call, Putin thanked the Pope for his willingness to mediate an end to the conflict.
