Poetry & Human Life: Page Break Festival Discussion – Sejas.lv

by Archynetys World Desk

Although the impact of poetry on the general public is evaluated differently (from hopes of increasing empathy in society to cynical opinions on the general insignificance of poetry), the discussion mostly recognized the importance of the personal dimension of poetry – that poetry can be a way to deal with the chaos surrounding the chaos. media.

The discussion emphasized the responsibility of the poets as language guards (especially in political manipulation) and emphasized the ability of poetry to include many truths and speak with existing and hopefully prospective companions through the feeling, not just the scope of words.

The main question: how to maintain the importance of poetry without forcing it to others, remained open in the first part of the discussion, reflecting the self -reflection of several poets about their role and influence in them in each of them.

The closing part of the discussion will be started by Kajo Genghoni, a British poet of Zambian origin, who currently lives in Essex, Britain. Both the biographies and achievements of other poets can be found here. The discussion was moderated by the poet, one of the organizers of Page Break, Efe Dujan.

Kajo CHANGONS: The concept of entropy has been a continuous journey – a study that started when I was about 20 years old. During the university, I studied Peter Redgrouva’s work – he was a poet with scientist’s scale and interests, whose poetry blended with analytical and poetic aspects. One of his poems, “The Idea of Entropy” (The idea of entropy1982) I was deeply inspired by a special visit to the southern coast of England in Meinport Beach, where the natural processes of change and chaos seem to be a quiet whispering to every guest there with a carefully keeping the truth about how the world we know will change.

Recently, I’ve been thinking about the unique relationship between poetry with form. I believe that even the most stringent poetry structures are hidden in a hidden form of unpredictability – the presence of a non -formed element in a fixed system. In poetry, I am most addressed by the following paradox: its ability to be both structured and spontaneous; Stable but at the same time changing.
