Pablo Crespo Released: Gürtel Plot Update

It also values “normalized behavior during the sentence”, “the good use of the open regime”, that Crespo carries out work activity abroad, that he is facing civil liability payments through seizures and monthly payments of 100 euros and that “he has binding and positive family support.”

With all these considerations, the magistrate understands that “there is an individualized and favorable social reintegration, according to the report of the treatment board”, so that all the requirements are met to grant him the last degree of compliance with the sentence.

The release will not be effective immediately, but when the order signed this Friday is final, which It will happen in five days if, as is foreseeable, no appeals are filed against him.

The order also establishes the obligations that Crespo must comply with until the sentence is completely extinguished, in 2031. how to establish a residence address and communicate any change to the court, be subject to monitoring by the center where until now he remained in semi-freedom, and request authorization for any movement.

Secretary of organization of the Galician PP

Businessman and former leader of the Popular Party, Pablo Crespo Sabarís (Pontevedra, 1960) is considered number two of the Gürtel plot.

After holding various positions of trust in the Galician PP, in 1996 he was appointed Secretary of Organization of the PP in Galiciaa position he held until 1999. Between 1997 and 1998 he was also a deputy for Pontevedra.

The sentence was reduced in 2020 by the Supreme Court to 36 years and eight months.
