Santiago Metro Line 9: A comprehensive Overview

The Santiago Metro Expansion Plan includes the construction of three new lines, aiming too expand system coverage and improve connectivity across the capital. This initiative focuses on integrating communes and sectors lacking direct network access.

Currently, the project includes lines 7, 8, and 9. Line 9 stands out with it’s 27-kilometer extension,projected as one of the system’s longest,benefiting approximately two million Santiago residents.

Line 9’s construction is divided into three stages:

  • Stage 1 (2030): 10 stations between Santiago and La Pintana.
  • Stage 2 (2032): Four stations from Recoleta to Santiago.
  • Stage 3 (2033): Five stations between La Pintana and Puente Alto.

The new line will connect eight communes in approximately 35 minutes:
