On Saturday evening, November 29th, 2025, around 5:30 p.m., the operations control center of the Neubrandenburg police headquarters was informed of a fire in a youth facility on the Datzeberg in Neubrandenburg.
According to initial findings, the fire broke out in the room of a 16-year-old German teenager, which was quickly extinguished by the Neubrandenburg fire department. As a result of the fire, the entire hallway of the facility was covered in soot and was therefore no longer habitable.
The resident of the room was found outside the facility. She was unhurt. A carer at the facility was slightly injured by inhaling the resulting smoke gas. The amount of damage could not yet be quantified at the time of the operation, but it is assumed to be in the high five-figure range.
According to the current status of the investigation, arson is assumed. The criminal police have started the investigation.
In addition to two radio patrol cars from the Neubrandenburg police headquarters, an ambulance, an ambulance and 15 comrades from the Neubrandenburg fire department were on duty.
