The largest museums in the world, such as the Museum of Modern Art (Moma) in New York, Pompidu Center in Paris and Tate Modern, London, Ukrainian artists, especially those who lived in the Russian Empire, still identify as “Russian”.

As a result, the NGO Shadows Project project The Stolen Art Campaign aims to correct the wrong attribute of Ukrainian artists in Western museums.
