Escola 42, a software development school, welcomes 222 new students in Lisbon and Porto. With more than 14 nationalities represented and varied professional profiles, such as architects, couriers, psychologists or military personnel, new students begin a learning cycle in programming.
Around 70% of new students have little or no programming experience and approximately half have secondary education.
Without classrooms, fixed schedules or teachers, students learn through practical projects, expanding their technical knowledge and developing skills such as creativity, autonomy, resilience, communication skills, working in groups, solving problems, among others.
Since opening its doors in Portugal, 42 has already had eight kick-offs, almost 1000 students, more than 50 thousand registered candidates, 12 swimming pools in Lisbon and 5 in Porto, where it arrived in June 2022.
The 42 program is free (fees are fully paid by patrons) and does not require an academic background or programming experience.
