Japanese Yen Falls To Lowest Level Against Dollar…

Around 8:05 pm GMT, the Japanese currency fell 0.32% against the American currency, to 155.32 yen per dollar. Earlier, it fell to 155.37 yen, the first time since June 1990.

“The pressure is mounting” on Japan, forcing it to “come to the rescue of its currency,” observed ForexLive analyst Adam Button. “But unfortunately, the dollar is fundamentally strong and I don’t see what the Japanese Ministry of Finance can do about it,” he said.

The financial markets have been buzzing, in recent weeks, with rumors of a possible intervention by the Japanese authorities in the foreign exchange market, as they did three times in 2022, successfully, once in September and twice in October.

“But other than palaver, we haven’t heard anything,” notes Matthew Weller, an analyst at Forex.com.

The “buck”, the nickname of the dollar, is still won by “the basis of high interest rates and more vigorous economic growth” in the United States, recalls this analyst.

“Having crossed 155 (¥ to the dollar) now, (American growth for the first quarter published on Thursday) and (the price index) PCE (estimated Friday) would be enough to get us closer for 160.

Business Groups Fight Back: Lawsuits Filed To Stop…

Business Groups Sue to Stop F.T.C. From Banning Noncompete Clauses

A recent development in the business world has led to several business groups filing a lawsuit against the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), aiming to block their proposed ban on noncompete clauses. This move has sparked significant debate and speculation about the implications it may have on workers and companies across various industries.

The potential ban on noncompete clauses by the FTC has grabbed headlines and drawn attention from business leaders, legal experts, and policymakers alike. It seeks to address concerns about the impact of these restrictive agreements on labor mobility and innovation.

Understanding Noncompete Clauses

Noncompete clauses are contractual agreements that prevent employees from working for competitors or establishing rival businesses for a specified period of time after leaving their current position. While these clauses aim to protect employers’ business interests, critics argue that they often restrict workers’ career opportunities and hinder industry growth.

Implications for Workers and Companies

If the ban on noncompete clauses is enforced, workers may experience increased job mobility and the ability to explore new opportunities more freely. This could lead to a more dynamic and competitive labor market,

Blank Checks Drag Car Rental Agency Managers To…

The Public Prosecution at the Ain Sebaa Criminal Court is looking into the files of those accused of accepting “blank checks” as guarantees, after managers of car rental companies in the economic capital were involved in imposing guarantee checks on their customers in exchange for enabling them to enter into car rental contracts for short terms.

Informed sources reported that the follow-up was launched against the agency managers after one of the customers was surprised by filling out the details of a blank check signed by him for an important amount of money, the value of which exceeded 70 thousand dirhams (7 million centimes), after the car he had purchased earlier this year was involved in a minor accident. The driver estimated the value of the damages and included the aforementioned amount in the check in order to obtain compensation for the damage to his car.

The same sources added that the customer was unable, during his negotiations with the car rental company, to convince him to return the check signed in blank, in exchange for repairing the car or paying the real value to compensate for the damages it sustained, stressing that the customer stuck to his position and did not inform the customer to fill out the details of the check,

The Last (Communication) Temptation Of Androulakis 2024-04-24 19:24:46

At a time when its political leaders relativize everything, as if they have been dragged (or even dragged) to the opposite bank of rationalism, religious references abound (directly or indirectly). The only thing politics avoids is using sayings for… the last (communicative) temptation. Nothing else, but the temptations never end. And these days, especially in Harilaou Trikoupi, there are many. The leadership of PASOK under Nikos Androulakis did not avoid slipping into anti-trollery about swimming pools and miracles, but also into spectacular maneuvers in view of the European elections. Even if it has done… an institutional effort – in the post-Zagora era – to restrain itself from communicative excesses despite the demographic poverty that afflicts PASOK-KINAL. The eight (out of 42) seats left open on the European ballot were resoundingly locked. The television papa Michael of the “Sasmos” series, the actor Michalis Aerakis (photo) who has been the artistic director of the DIPETHE of Crete, also joined. Next to him are former members of MeRA25, Konstantina Adamou (former Member of Parliament for Thessaloniki) and Kostas Chouliaras, doctor Nikos Xylouris, Dr. Green.

N. Androulakis is seeking to recover PASOK by putting votes back into the electoral canal – the staff of Harilaou Trikoupis believe that after the “miracle” of Kasselakis,
