Meningitis at Dunedin Rugby Tournament – Updates & Advice

A Christchurch high school student has been admitted to hospital with meningococcal meningitis.

The student, from Shirley Boys’ High School, had been at a school rugby tournament in Dunedin.

The school said the boy was hospitalised on Tuesday and was well.

Close contacts had been given antibiotics and the risk of someone else at the school falling ill was small, the school said.
