A Melodic Start: “Enrique Granados” School Concert
The Cultural Week in Majadahonda kicks off with a musical performance that promises to evoke nostalgia and create new memories. On Tuesday, April 9th, students from the “Enrique Granados” Municipal School of Music will present a concert featuring beloved genres such as boleros, rumbas, and ballads. These timeless songs, deeply embedded in our cultural fabric, offer a chance to reconnect with cherished moments.
The concert will be held in the versatile space of the Municipal Library “Francisco Umbral” (c/ Las Norias, 39), commencing at 7:00 PM. Admission is free, subject to room capacity. This event provides an accessible opportunity for the community to enjoy live music and support local talent.
Enchanting Tales for Tiny Ears: “Mom Luna” Storytelling Session
Thursday, April 10th, is dedicated to the youngest members of the community. Ana Titiricuento will present “Mom Luna,” a captivating storytelling session designed for children aged 0 to 3 years. This interactive experience aims to stimulate imagination and foster a love of stories from an early age.
The session begins at 5:30 PM in the Municipal Library.Due to limited space, prior registration is required. Interested parents can register in person at the Municipal Library or by calling 916349419, starting Monday, April 7th. A library user card is essential for registration. Early registration is highly recommended as these events tend to fill up quickly.
A Life Remembered: Julia Induráin’s “Memories of Majadahonda”
The highlight of the week is the presentation of “1942-1980. My Memories of Majadahonda” on Friday, April 11th. This book chronicles the life and experiences of Julia Induráin, a remarkable 91-year-old woman who has witnessed the conversion of Majadahonda firsthand since her arrival in 1942.her vivid recollections offer a unique viewpoint on the town’s evolution.
Beyond personal anecdotes, the book serves as a past record, documenting Majadahonda’s growth and development over nearly four decades. It provides valuable insights into the town’s past, contrasting it with the vibrant city it is today. Enrique Gutiérrez Bueno will join Julia Induráin in presenting her work.
The presentation will take place at 7:00 PM in the Municipal Library. Admission is free until the venue reaches capacity. This event promises to be a poignant and informative journey through Majadahonda’s history, as told by a woman who lived it.
