Linz on the Rhine. On Saturday, October 25, 2025, as dusk falls, experience the historic buildings and sights of Linz’s old town in an impressive play of lights. Various performances with live music and culinary highlights round off the evening. Leave everyday life behind you for a brief moment, embark on a dreamy journey to colorful Linz am Rhein and let yourself be enchanted by the interplay between light and live music.
Once again, lighting designer Martin Kohl filled the wide space of St. Martin’s Church with impressive light shows. The range extends from classical music to film and musical music to pop songs and Cologne hits. Ruth Zimmermann presents songs and jazz standards between heaven and earth with the musicians of the “Swing & Praise” formation. Some titles, some in new arrangements, run like a common thread through the repertoire of the last ten years. Look forward to well-known and rarely heard songs and the selection of special instrumental pieces in which the thoroughbred musicians can demonstrate their virtuosity. The live musical parts alternate with the programmed light productions from 6 p.m.
Jazzy sounds from the band “Straight Four” await you on Burgplatz from 7 p.m. For over 20 years they have been delighting audiences throughout the Bonn area with traditional and modern swing and Latin jazz. The Linz trio “Roses of Remedy” will rock the butter market from 7 p.m. Whether rock, pop, hits or Cologne sounds – Roses of Remedy hit the right note with every number and bring fresh, authentic sound to the stage. With passion, diversity and musical precision, they create a live experience that captivates and inspires the audience.
In addition to the local restaurants, the following partners ensure your physical well-being:
Burgplatz: Crepe stand by the Schmid family
Marketplace: Mamas Gözleme & Fritamin B
Church of St. Martin: drinks stand for the altar boys in Linz
