Three Arrested After Robbery in Lincoln’s Near South Neighborhood
Three individuals were taken into custody on Tuesday following a robbery in Lincoln’s Near South neighborhood. The incident occured near 19th and Garfield streets, where a 44-year-old Lincoln man reported the theft of his car and phone at approximately 8 a.m.
Authorities believe the suspects physically assaulted the man, resulting in injuries to his head and neck. The Lincoln Police Department (LPD) located the stolen vehicle roughly 10 minutes later in the vicinity of 56th and Van Dorn streets. however, the vehicle was unoccupied.
According to witness accounts, two individuals arrived in the car and subsequently fled into a nearby residence. Officers proceeded to detain multiple individuals at the home, according to the LPD.
Police have identified and arrested 26-year-old Gabriel Olivas and 36-year-old Jesse Robles on suspicion of robbery.
Jeffrey Butt, 43, of Lincoln, was also arrested on an outstanding warrant. Court documents indicate that he failed to appear at a scheduled court hearing while out on bail.
The victim’s phone was recovered by the police.
