Lips in Motion Celebrates 25 Years with Special Guest Ingo Dickewied

A quarter-century of harmony: The lageners choir “Lips in Motion” marks its milestone anniversary with a special concert event.


A Silver Jubilee Concert

The “lips in Motion” choir of Lage is set to commemorate its 25th anniversary with a grand concert on Sunday, May 18th. The performance will begin at 5 p.m. in the auditorium of the high school on Werreanger. Adding a special touch to this year’s celebration, Ingo Dickewied, renowned for his captivating “Udo-Jürgens concerts,” will be joining as a special guest.

A Diverse Repertoire

Attendees can anticipate a rich tapestry of musical styles, blending newly rehearsed pieces with beloved classics that have resonated with the choir for years. The program promises a mix of cheerful and thoughtful, groovy and worn selections from the realms of pop and musicals. Featured songs include iconic tracks such as “Don’t Stop Me Now,” “The Sound of Silence,” “Can You Feel the Love Tonight,” and “A Million Dreams” from the acclaimed musical “The Greatest Showman.” This diverse selection ensures a captivating experience for all music lovers.

From Humble Beginnings to a Lasting Legacy

Inspired by the success of a young choir in Bad Salzuflen, choir director Peter Stolle envisioned a similar ensemble in Lage 25 years ago.Reflecting on the choir’s origins, founder Rolf Kehde admitted, It was an attempt.I didn’t believe that the choir would last so long in this fast-moving time. The inaugural singing evening of the “Young Choir 2000 Lage” took place on Tuesday, February 29, 2000, drawing an extraordinary 46 singers. Remarkably, several of these founding members remain dedicated to the choir to this day, a testament to its enduring appeal.

The choir’s journey wasn’t without its challenges. navigating the evolving musical landscape and occasional creative differences with choir leaders, including Peter Stolle, a seasoned musician with international experience, required adaptability and resilience. Despite these hurdles, “Lips in Motion” has thrived, becoming a cornerstone of the local arts scene.

Ticket Details

Advance tickets for the anniversary concert are available for €14 at Brückmann bookstore, Bäckerei and Café Dickewied in Wahmbeckerheide, and from choir members. Tickets will also be available at the door for €15. Admission is free for children and adolescents, making this a family-friendly event.
