Kazakhstan and the european Bank for Reconstruction and development (EBRD) are expanding their strategic partnership,focusing on sustainable development,infrastructure,and critical minerals. Negotiations have highlighted a mutual interest in deepening cooperation and a commitment too constructive dialog.

The Minister affirmed a dedication to investment projects prioritizing technology transfer, the establishment of production clusters, and the localization of manufacturing. These initiatives aim to bolster Kazakhstan’s industrial capabilities and promote sustainable economic growth.

Joint infrastructure initiatives received important attention, including the modernization of sewage treatment facilities in several Kazakh cities and projects related to sustainable urban development. These projects are designed to improve the quality of life for residents and promote environmentally friendly urban environments.

Within the framework of the existing Memorandum of Understanding between Kazakhstan and the European Union, discussions also centered on expanding cooperation regarding the supply of critical minerals and participation in the formation of sustainable global raw material supply chains. This collaboration seeks to ensure a stable and responsible supply of essential resources.

The EBRD has been actively supporting Kazakhstan in implementing various infrastructure and environmentally sustainable projects as 1992. To date,the EBRD has invested over 10 billion euros in approximately 300 projects spanning energy,transport,water supply,healthcare,small and medium-sized businesses,and green technologies.

Earlier reports indicate that the President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), Odile Renaud-Basso, is scheduled to visit Kazakhstan on 23 and 24 June 2025 for meetings with senior government officials and businesses. This visit underscores the ongoing commitment to strengthening the partnership between Kazakhstan and the EBRD.
