EBRD Donates 600 Laptops to Support Online Education in Eastern Ukraine
The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), as part of the Device Coalition, has generously donated 600 laptops to educators in Ukraine’s eastern Donetsk and Luhansk regions. This move is aimed at facilitating online teaching and ensuring students have access to quality education despite the ongoing challenges in the region.
Ministry of Education and Science Announces Donations
According to Ukrinform, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine announced this donation on Telegram. The coalition distributed 361 laptops to the Donetsk region and 239 to the Luhansk region. These devices were specifically allocated to schools functioning in areas under Ukrainian government control.

The donated laptops are set to play a crucial role in maintaining educational continuity. They will be used by teachers in both regions, ensuring that students in these conflict zones can continue receiving education and access online learning resources.

In January 2024, the Olena Zelenska Foundation, the Ministry of Education and Science, and the Ministry of Digital Transformation collaborated to launch the Device Coalition. This initiative brings together international organizations, governments, and philanthropists to equip Ukrainian students and teachers with necessary technology for high-quality online education.
