Karol G ignited the NFL stage with her Tropicoqueta vibe in Brazil, headlining the halftime show on Friday, September 5th, during the Kansas city Chiefs versus Los Angeles Chargers season opener.

The Colombian artist’s performance at Corinthians Arena in São Paulo was streamed live on the NFL’s YouTube channel. she began her set with Portuguese verses before transitioning to Spanish for “Bandida Entrenada.”

“Hey, Brazil!” she exclaimed to the crowd. “Up my Latin people!”

Donning a brown and yellow miniskirt with copper accents and a bra featuring yellow pineapple cups,Karol G, with her flowing dark blond hair, performed a medley of hits, including “If I had known you before,” “A kitten called me,” and “Papasito,” blending English and Spanish lyrics.

Surrounded by dancers and incorporating lambada-inspired moves, Karol G’s performance, though under 10 minutes, was a vibrant spectacle with elaborate costumes, female percussionists, and a finale featuring golden pom poms and fireworks.

Hours before the show, Karol G expressed her feelings in an Instagram post, sharing colorful snapshots from her time in brazil. “Today is a very special day! After a long time, I return to one of my favorite places in the world, where, no matter what, I feel fully happy: The stage! The sacred place where I connect with you,” she wrote.

Karol G’s halftime show was announced in August, accompanied by a photo of her in Tropicoqueta attire holding a football helmet. The Chiefs-Chargers game marked the first NFL game exclusively streamed live on YouTube, a result of the ongoing partnership between the two platforms.

Along with Karol G’s performance, Brazilian artist Ana Castela sang the country’s national anthem, “Hino Nacional Brasileiro,” while jazz saxophonist and composer Kamasi Washington performed the United States national anthem, “The Star-Spangled Banner.”
