The finals, held at the Qatar Sports Club Indian Hall, witnessed a compelling performance from the Korean judoka.

His path to the final was marked by decisive victories. He overpowered Yahia Saba of Syria in the first round and secured a semi-final spot with two effective wins against Ayusi ochibart from mongolia.The semi-final against Ascart Git Kiyv of Kazakhstan proved to be a challenging encounter, but Jang Sung-ho maintained his composure, securing his place in the final by capitalizing on a strategic sleeve grip with just 56 seconds remaining.

Overcoming Past Defeats: The Final Showdown Against Ishii

The final presented a formidable challenge in the form of Ishii, an opponent against whom jang Sung-ho had previously suffered two defeats. This history added significant pressure to the match, making it a crucial test of Jang Sung-ho’s resilience and strategic adaptation.

Lee so-yeon (25), competing in the under 78kg category, showcased her grappling skills by defeating Picha Pat Pat chari of Thailand and Janar Jannova of kazakhstan through squeezing and pressing techniques. She further advanced by winning against Furevagal Le Camdaes of Mongolia in the quarter-finals in just 25 seconds. However, she faced a tough challenge against Nakazawa from Japan in the semi-finals. Despite initially taking the lead with an effect just before the end, the match went into overtime, where Nakazawa ultimately prevailed.

Kim Na-young (18), in the over 78kg category, initially defeated Shintani Midori of Japan but was later defeated in the semi-finals, pushing her into the bronze medal match. Demonstrating resilience, Kim Na-young secured the bronze medal by executing a half move against Gul’s Han Isanova of Kazakhstan with only 20 seconds remaining.

However,Baek Chul-sung (21),competing in the 100kg category,was unable to secure a medal,losing his bronze medal match against Abdulo tangrif of Uzbekistan.

This victory and the overall performance of the Korean judo team at the doha asian Games underscore the nation’s commitment to excellence in martial arts.
