Yemen’s Houthi military commander, Major General Mohammed al-Ghamari, was killed as a result of an Israeli attack. The Iran-backed group threatened revenge.
“Major General Mohammed al-Ghamari died fighting honorably against Israel’s enemies,” the Houthi military said in a statement without providing further details, reported by AFP, Thursday (16/10/2025).
Ghamari’s death was announced days after the ceasefire in the war in Gaza, Palestine. The Houthis are known to have repeatedly attacked Israeli-linked targets and cargo ships in the Red Sea.

The Houthi military said Ghamari was killed along with his “companions” and his 13-year-old son. However, the Houthis did not reveal the time of the Israeli attack that killed Ghamari.

The Houthis stated that they had carried out 758 military operations by deploying 1,835 munitions, including drones and missiles, to Israel.
“The cycle of conflict with the enemy has not ended, and the Zionist enemy (Israel) will receive a commensurate punishment for the crimes it has committed,” he said.
