Israel calls for evacuation of three towns in eastern Lebanon in anticipation of strikes

The Israeli army has just called on the inhabitants of three localities in the Bekaa plain, in eastern Lebanon, to evacuate “immediately” in anticipation of strikes against what it presents as infrastructures of the Lebanese Islamist movement Hezbollah, an ally of Iran.

“Urgent warning to the residents (…) of Douris, Brital and Majdaloun”, three villages near the town of Baalbek, announced Colonel Avichay Adraee, Arabic-speaking spokesperson for the Israeli army on X and Telegram. “Hezbollah’s activities in the region force (us) to act against it forcefully in order to target its military infrastructure (…) For your safety, we call on you to immediately evacuate the area,” he warned.
