The Santa Catarina Civil Defense issued another special notice because of the intense cold that hits the state this weekend. The warning continues until the morning of Wednesday (25), highlighting the South, Midwest and Planalto Norte Planalto, as well as areas of the West, Alto Vale do Itajaí, Greater Florianópolis and Litoral Sul.

A cold air mass of polar origin associated with a high pressure area causes the cold to continue throughout the state until Wednesday. There is high risk very high for occurrences associated with thermal discomfort, worsening cardiorespiratory diseases, hypothermia and freezing of clues in the most susceptible areas.
The temperatures are very low, in a frost condition in all regions of the state between night and dawn. The minimums should be vary from -2 ° C to -5 ° C between the plateaus and half -west, and may reach lower values in the low areas of these regions. Already on the coast, the minimums are between 0 ° C and 6 ° C, reaching punctually lower values.

Isolated storms are expected in the Greater West in the late afternoon, with low risk to punctually moderate for related occurrences.

Epagri/Ciram also issued a warning because of the intense cold that extends until Wednesday. The agency warns of the occurrence, once again, of negative temperatures, with minimums of -4 ° C to -5 ° C, from Western to Planaltos and Alto Vale do Itajaí, as well as frost.
