Iniesta Mural: Chinese Ink Art Honors Football Legend in Plasencia

by Archynetys News Desk

He recently deceased Robe Iniesta, vocalist and composer of the rock group Extremoduro, is the protagonist of a new mural in the center of Plasencia, the Cáceres municipality where he was born. Signed by the Lugo urban artist Primo, also known as Primo.asecas, the mural pays tribute to the legendary singer who always remembered his native Extremadura.

It is a Chinese ink mural on kraft paper located on one of the facades of the central Plaza de San Martín in the capital of Jerte and shows Robe accompanied by three vultures, an image loaded with symbolism for the band’s followers. In his well-known song ‘Extremaydura’, the following verse is found: “And the animal I love most is the carrion vulture.”

This tribute is added to the numerous recognitions who have fired Robe Iniesta since his death on December 10. The leader of Extremoduro is known for his subversive lyrics, which marked several generations in Spain from the group’s first demo in 1989 to the last songs of the Placa soloist.
