ICE Protest: Pepper Spray Used in Dilley, Texas – Univision 41

From the place, a large presence of activists and community membersto which elements of the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS)the Border Patrol y ICE agentswho reinforced access to the detention center.

During the progress of the protest, ICE agents fired pepper spray against protesters and media representatives who were in the area, which caused moments of tension.

“We were hit by pepper spray bombs, the truth is I also had to be pushed,” the Univision San Antonio reporter said in a live broadcast.

The deployment of authorities at the scene was significant, as was the number of protesters who gathered to demand the release of the boy Liam Conejo Ramosdetained with his father, as well as other migrant families held in the center.

Until now There have been no official reports of people arrested or injured.and federal authorities have not issued a public position on the use of pepper spray during the demonstration.
