Hugo Fidalgo, judoka from the Kyoto Club of León, is concentrated in Amsterdam with the National Junior Paralympic Team, participating in the Dutch Open and the International Training Camp that were held in Dutch territory during the course of last week.
On Saturday, he competed in the Venray Adapted Open International Judo tournament, where he was proclaimed champion in his weight by beating competitors from the teams of Germany, Portugal, and the Netherlands to get into the final in which he faced the representative of Australia, whom he won cleanly, proclaiming himself champion of the category.
Training continues with the teams from the invited countries and will undoubtedly serve to improve Hugo’s confidence, as in his first international outing last season, he was proclaimed runner-up in the international tournament, thus improving his performance and once again showing his great potential in the practice of this sport.
The objectives of this international training camp are that participants can enjoy a few days of judo and other sports activities in an international and multicultural environment, where judokas improve not only their judo, but can practice and receive technical-tactical work classes in their favorite sport from national and international coaches of recognized prestige. Furthermore, taking advantage of the knowledge of the invited coaches, during those days various training actions are developed for the participating coaches, while at the same time acquiring more knowledge and coexistence with the members of the Spanish team summoned for this purpose during the days of duration.
