George Clooney responded to Donald Trump, who made fun of his French naturalization.
George Clooney proves that he has already mastered the art of French repartee. The American actor was naturalized French on December 27 with his wife, Amal Clooney, and their two children. A nice Christmas gift for the family living in Brignoles, in Var, since 2021. But which earned them attack by Donald Trump.
On Wednesday, December 31, the American president wrote on his Truth Social network: “Good news!” George and Amal Clooney, two of the worst political prognosticators of all time, have officially become French citizens »accusing France of “ absolutely disastrous management of immigration” causing “a serious crime problem”.
In his long diatribe, Donald Trump attacks the actor for his change of foot during the previous presidential campaign. George Clooney notably organized a fundraiser in June 2024 for outgoing President Joe Biden, before encouraging him to give up his place in a platform at New York Times after the first televised debate against Donald Trump.
George Clooney Strikes Back
The American president not only attacked the 64-year-old actor on his political commitment, but also on his career: “Clooney is better known for politics than for his rare, totally mediocre films. He wasn’t a movie star at all, but just a regular guy who constantly complained about common sense in politics. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN! [Rendons sa grandeur à l’Amérique !] »he wrote on Truth Social.
George Clooney replied no without humor, giving a completely different meaning to the MAGA slogan: “I completely agree with the current president. We must make America great again. We will start in November »declared the actor in a press release to the specialized site The Hollywood Reporter Thursday January 1st.
The midterm elections will take place on November 3 in the United States. Americans will vote to renew the entire House of Representatives and a third of the Senate. Donald Trump now enjoys an absolute majority in Congress, with 220 elected Republicans out of 435 in the House of Representatives, and 53 out of 100 in the Senate.
The November midterms could therefore well redistribute power and weaken Donald Trump’s mandate. And George Clooney did not fail to remind him of it.
