Ford Vehicle Security Alert: What You Need to Know

He National Consumer Service (Sernac) issued a vehicle safety alert Ford brand that were marketed in Chile among years 2024 and 2025.

Specifically, it is the Explorer model and the number of vehicles reached amounts to more than 300.

In the case of the American brand, a security alert was issued for “Ford brand vehicles, Explorer model, marketed in Chile during the months of November 2024 and June 2025, due to a possible defect in the second row seats, implying a risk for consumers.”

Specifically, they are 313 units marketed in Chile and whose country of origin USA.

“The company reports that, in some of the vehicles involved, the folding switch on the second-row seats could intermittently stick if the trim bezel surrounding it was installed incorrectly. If the button becomes stuck in the down position, the seat could unlock, fold and/or slide unexpectedly, even while driving.”

Regarding the possible risks involved in this failure, “a seat that folds or slides unexpectedly while driving could increase the risk of injury, especially in the event of an accident.”

What to do in case of failure

You can check if your vehicle is affected by the campaign through the list of Chassis Numbers or VINs attached HERE.

If this is the case, you must coordinate a prior appointment at the authorized service point (Call Center: 800 470 408​) and schedule it for the campaign to run.

Regarding the repair measure, “the company will proceed preventively and free of charge to inspect and replace the bezel of the easy-access switch of the second row seat. The repair has an estimated duration of approximately 20 minutes.”
