FIFA Club World Cup Faces Challenges Despite Star Power

The expanded Club world cup is underway, but early signs indicate FIFAS vision faces hurdles with scheduling, lopsided matches, and attendance.

The FIFA club World Cup (CWC) kicked off with Lionel Messi displaying his skills in front of a VIP audience including David Beckham, Ronaldo, Kaka, Bebeto, Roberto Baggio, and Javier Zanetti at the Hard rock Stadium in Miami.

Despite Messi’s presence, Inter Miami and Egyptian club Al Ahly played to a 0-0 draw, though many fans hoped for a high-scoring game led by the Argentinian star.

Organizers, including FIFA President Gianni Infantino, expressed satisfaction with the tournament’s start, anticipating increased goals, attendance, and overall popularity as the competition progresses.

Infantino has stated that the competition is “the start of something historic that will change our sport for the better.”

However,in its first few days, the CWC has struggled to live up to the hype generated by FIFA.

Each team plays three group matches within nine days.

This schedule has drawn criticism from players’ unions, particularly given the already demanding domestic and international seasons for many European
