following their promotion, Dynamo Dresden is actively preparing its squad for the challenges of the 2. Fußball-bundesliga in the 2025/26 season. The club is focused on retaining key players and strategically adding new talent to bolster their chances of success.
Many of the players who contributed to the promotion will continue to wear the SGD jersey. Dynamo Dresden is set to begin its pre-season preparations for the new 2.Bundesliga campaign on June 22nd.
New Additions to Dynamo Dresden
Christoph Daferner (27): The team’s leading goal scorer from last season will remain a crucial part of the offensive lineup. “The importance of christoph for our team this season is not only based on his numerous goals. He is always humbly progressing, wants to improve again and again and leaves the heart on the pitch in every game,” explains sports manager Thomas Brendel. Daferner, who was initially on loan from 1. FC Nürnberg, has been permanently signed. In the 2024/25 season,the center forward tallied 18 goals and five assists in 37 appearances in the 3rd league.

Alexander Rossipal (28): The defender is transferring from Hansa Rostock to Dynamo Dresden. “Alexander has a very good left foot. With his skills, he can further increase the competition on our left defense and give our game more stability,” says Dynamo coach Thomas Stamm.Alexander Rossipal played in 57 games for Rostock in the 2nd and 3rd leagues.
Players Without a Contract at Dynamo Dresden
The contracts of several players expired on June 30, including Philip Heise, Tom Berger, Phillip Böhm, Mika Baur, Andi Hoti, and Jonas Sterner.
Departures at Dynamo Dresden
Jonas Sterner (on loan from Holstein Kiel) is moving to Hannover 96. The loan agreement for Mika Baur will not be extended, and he will return to SC Paderborn. The contracts of Tom Berger, Philip Heise, and Phillip Böhm will also not be renewed.
