The 120 million euro fine imposed on 5 December 2025 by the European Union on X, Elon Musk‘s former Twitter, represents a decisive step in the process of applying the Digital Services Act. It is indeed the first sanction of the new legislation and, at the same time, a political, normative and cultural message which marks the start of a phase in which Europe presents itself as the global arbiter of technological responsibility.
