At the end of the year, the Red Cross is calling for blood donations and asking everyone who is healthy to do something for those who have to spend the Christmas holidays in the hospital.
As a thank you for the good deed, the Red Cross has prepared a very special gift: From December 22nd to January 4th there are limited original DRK blood donation service Christmas socks!
The DRK blood donation service would like to thank those who have already donated blood this year. He is happy about everyone who ends the year with a blood donation and wishes everyone a happy new year!
Many patients also need blood transfusions during the Christmas holidays – especially tumor patients who have to accept a temporary disruption in their own blood production during chemotherapy. Transfusion of donated blood, especially platelet concentrates, can enormously increase the chances of recovery in these cases. But the concentrates obtained from the donated blood do not last long. That’s why blood donations between the years are of life-saving importance.
