To raise a child, an entire village is needed-or an entire house: that you don’t always have to master difficult situations alone is shown for Martina EBM, who was confronted with one or the other challenge as a “suburban female” or suddenly “everything dark”, on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at 8:15 p.m. in an ORF-2 premiere and on Tuesday, 8:15 p.m. Clock on ORF ON in the ORF/MDR comedy “deep water divers under the roof”. The history of the old apartment building in the Vienna suburb, in which the Annie Breuer played by EBM lives with her two children, is as moved as the fates of its residents. But as different as they may be, they have one thing in common: when it matters, they move together and show that humor can also make dark hours easier. In other roles in August and September 2023, Hanno Koffler, Leopold Pallua, Ariana Stöckle, Marcel Mohab, Safira Robens, Emma Filipović, Neda Rahmanian, Rainer Egger, Skye Macdonald, Benjamin Spindelberger, Olivia Goschler and Veronika Polly. Rupert Henning is responsible for directing and script.
Martina EBM: “Sensitive and hopeful film”
“” Flying water diver under the roof ‘is a sensitive and hopeful film about loneliness, overwhelming and the power of humanity in the anonymity of the big city. The focus is on anonymous mother, a single mother who slowly loses the support between job, children and financial worries. The film tells with great sensitivity to ask for help – and how healing it can be to do. ” In addition: “Behind every apartment door hides your own life, full of grief, longing and small wonder. The story shows that it often only needs a small, brave step not to go under – ‘deep water divers under the roof’ is a quiet plea for compassion, cohesion and hope that arises when people do not forget each other.”
Producer, director and screenwriter Rupert Henning: “Ocean interpersonal feelings”
“In an entertaining way, the film tells of a large residential building in Vienna and its colorful residents, whose life stories are very moved without exception – and therefore very moving. Living together under one roof learn that humor can be the button even in darker hours, which prevents us from bursting. In the end, all of which you like to have as neighbors, even if you could sometimes shoot some of them to the moon. ” And further: “The waters in which the deep water divers are diving around in this film is the ocean interpersonal feelings – and at some point everyone depends on the fact that you do not always do it upwards. From time to time you need the others, a helping hand – a ‘Buddy’, as it says under diving. Then the deep dive can lead to the safe surface again.”
