Climate activists painted the lobby and information panels red check-in at Humberto Delgado airport, in Lisbon, this Monday, where they also displayed a banner against the construction of a new airport.

In a statement sent to newsrooms in the early afternoon, the Climáximo movement said that a group painted the airport atrium and the readers near the entrance to the boarding gate area, “while a banner was thrown from the galleries where one could read ‘New Airport: Climate Collapse'”.

According to the movement, at least three people were “taken by the police”.
