The authorities report a risk linked to glass foreign bodies in certain jars.

The product concerned is the 720 ml jar of Extra fine green beans picked & stored by hand Carrefour Extramanufactured by LECOFRUIT for Interdis. This is the lot G105
– LA03 MADAGASCAR
with a minimum durability date set at 12/31/2027, marketed from November 29, 2024 to January 16, 2026 in Carrefour stores throughout France.

Carrefour Extra green beans recalled for glass risk?

The reason is a suspicion of the presence of pieces of glass“inert foreign bodies” which can cause injury if ingested, in the mouth, throat or digestive tract. The recall is part of a precautionary approach supervised by authorities such as the DGCCRF and the DGAL, in order to avoid any incident.

The official instructions are clear:

  • Do not eat these green beans anymore, even if the jar looks normal;
  • Return the product to the store to obtain a refund;
  • Contact Carrefour consumer service for any questions;
  • If you can’t bring it back, destroy the jar securely.

Consumer recall, refunds and previous recalls of Carrefour green beans

This is not the first alert for this type of jar: in 2025, another batch of Carrefour Extra extra fine green beans, M289 – LA03 MADAGASCAR, same GTIN 3270190153917 and DDM 06/30/2027, had already been withdrawn for a similar risk of glass, with a procedure closed in April 2025. A comparable recall also existed in 2016 on extra fine green beans 720 ml from the brand. So many reasons to have the reflex to check batch number, DDM and barcode at each product alert.
