Body believes that Mazón’s resignation comes late and regrets that he does not call elections
The Minister of Economy, Commerce and Business, Carlos Body, has considered that the resignation of president of the Generalitat, Carlos Mazón, arrives “late” and “badly” and has regretted that he did not have “the courage” to call elections, since that is what the Valencian Community needs.
This was indicated in statements to the media before opening the 12th Annual Congress of Multinationals with Spain, after learning that Carlos Mazón had announced that he was leaving his position. “This morning we have seen one more example of how things should not be done,” said Body, who considered that Mr. Mazón’s resignation “arrives late” and “badly,” and regretted that he did not have “the courage” to call elections, which is “what is best for the Valencian Community right now.”
Regarding aid, he insisted that the central government “has been at all times and we will continue to be on the side of citizens, businessmen, and workers” and recalled that in the province of Valencia the aid disbursed on the ground amounts to 8,000 million euros.
“This is more than 10% of the total GDP of the Valencian province, it is as if we had disbursed the entire recovery plan we have for Spain in five years, in a single year,” said Body, who considered that these data demonstrate “the magnitude, the importance” of the aid. (Efe)
